Get To The Next Level While Having Fun - Join our Junior Skater Club Programs

Ready to take a step beyond our regular Learn-to-Skate sessions to see where figure skating will take you? Does your junior skater want to learn the basics of skating or improve on their skills in a regular weekly session with other dedicated skaters? The Hershey Figure Skating Junior Skater Club Programs for skaters 18 and under are the right fit for every need!

Our Junior Club programs include options for all levels of skaters, from those taking a step beyond Learn-to-Skate, to those intensely involved in competition, to everyone in between.  Programs include:

  • on-ice group instruction by skating level with highly qualified figure skating coaches such as Maria Pocheykina, Ben Cohen, Doris Papenfuss, Oleg Petrov, Lisa Plumeri, and Sasha Potcheikina.
  • participation in a group program at HFSC recitals/shows

Aspire Program

For Levels: Basic Skills 3-6, Freeskate 1-6 up to Axel

Our "Bridge" program from Learn to Skate. This program will be divided into two-levels on the ice. It's designed for :


  • Beginner skaters who have learned the basics of skating and are ready for the next step! Forward and backward crossovers, advanced two-foot spins, bunny hops, beginning one-foot spin, backward stroking and one-foot glides, hockey stops and t-stops.


  • Skaters who have finished Basic badges 1-6 and are ready to work on Freeskate badges with more complex skills.  These include beginning jumps, from waltz and half jumps through a beginning Axel jump, as well as learning to combine steps and and moves leading to choreography.

HFSC Membership

Hershey Figure Skating Club Membership is required to participate in Junior Club Programs.

HFSC's Junior Assistant Program

Our junior assistant program is an opportunity for skaters with a desire to become figure skating coaches to train with HFSC coaches and learn the skills necessary to become a Learn to Skate USA coach.  

Requirements for participation in this program include:

  • At least 14 years of age (by July 1, 2022) and
  • Completion of Learn to Skate USA basic skills level 6 or above 


Coaching staff will assist you in obtaining these additional requirements:

  • Competition of Learn to Skate USA instructor certification exam,
  • 2022-23 Learn to Skate USA instructor membership, and
  • Background check & SafeSport certification for those 18 years of age and older


During this training, you will learn how to teach Learn to Skate USA Basic Skills, Snowplow Sam, Freestyle, and Hockey levels; how to handle various on-ice and off-ice situations; how to provide positive feedback to skaters and their families as well as constructive criticism; how to encourage skaters to do their best while having fun; and how to teach in many different styles of coaching to accommodate the many different types of learning techniques and abilities.

Upon competition of the program, you will receive a certificate and a HFSC Junior Assistant jacket awarded at our annual banquet !
